Ryan Giggs joins ‘Ronaldinho and friends’, set to visit Pakistan

KARACHI: Former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs became the latest name to join Brazilian legend Ronaldinho Gaucho and other big footballing names to feature in two exhibition matches in Karachi and Lahore on July 8 and 9 respectively.

The Welshman was confirmed as the replacement for former Chelsea skipper John Terry who pulled out as he signed for Aston Villa on Monday.

The other players who will take part in the exhibition matches include Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos, former France striker Nicolas Anelka, ex-France winger Robert Pires, former England goalkeeper David James, former Portuguese winger Luis Boa Morte and former Dutch midfielder George Boateng.

The matches are being organised by Leisure Leagues Pakistan — an initiative of the World Group.
