Who in the world doesn’t recognize Rowan Atkinson aka Mr. Bean? He has been a source of laughter for many irrespective of their age. But he is not all what appears on the screen. He is a graduate from Oxford University and Newcastle University and has done his M.Sc in Electrical Engineering.
Earlier this year, Atkinson revealed he is planning another ‘Mr Bean’ movie featuring the popular character as an old age pensioner. The 62-year-old comic thinks his friend and series co- creator, ‘Love Actually’ writer Richard Curtis, has come up with a very funny idea featuring his popular character – who first featured on TV 27 years ago – in his senior years.
He had a wife, , a BBC makeup artist, though they broke up in 2014. Now ‘Mr Bean’ is with his girl friend named Louise Ford and he is expecting to become a dad for the third time at the age of 62.
Rowan Atkinson already has two grown-up children, Ben, 23, and daughter Lily, 21, from his marriage to Sunetra Sastry.
Atkinson began dating Louise, who plays Kate in hit comedy ‘The Windsors’, in 2014 after separating from Sunetra. The couple met in 2012 while they acted together in West End comedy ‘Quatermaine’s Terms’.
Atkinson split from Sastry in 2014 and she filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. The marriage breakdown came as the couple were building a luxury USD 18.94 million home in Oxfordshire together. The news comes just a month after it was reported Atkinson’s daughter Lily had decided to change her name.
He is also a real life hero which many of us don’t know. In 2001, he was flying with his family to Kenya when the pilot fainted and the plane started to go down. But he took charge of the plane and landed it safely, saving all the passengers along with his family.
But the time has changed how the legendary comedian looked over the recent years, and it was of course destined to happen.
