We have all freaked out about the moment but there are some other great bosses as well.
Richard Branson who is the founder of the Virgin group recently visited the offices in Australia where he found one employee napping on the couch.
No, you guessed it wrong. The employee wasn’t fired or reprimanded but rather had a photograph taken with the billionaire boss.
Branson also wrote about it on his blog at Virgin.com:
‘I popped into the office and the airport to say hello and check in to see what the team are up to. This guy wasn’t up to much at all – I caught him sleeping on the job! Wow, did he get a shock when I woke him up. He must have thought he was dreaming because he went straight back to sleep. To be fair, he was on standby, getting some much needed rest.’
It is not smart to fall asleep at work especially when the boss is scheduled for a trip moreover in the full view of the rest of the office.
Many psychologists and even some executives have voiced support for sleeping on the job but provided it is done secretly and without seeking more attention.
Arianna Huffington, cofounder and editor of The Huffington Post and author of The Sleep Revolution has even said offices should have couches placed in a private spot if there are no designated nap rooms.
“Then have your kit with your earplugs and your eye mask and you can lie on that couch,” said Huffington.
Now we do not endorse everything said and advice that you should always get a good night sleep as it can also affect you productivity.
