Rangers release MQM’s Qamar Mansoor

Mr. Mansoor was nabbed by Rangers in a pre-dawn raid on MQM’s headquarters Nine Zero on July 17 for ‘facilitating’ hate speeches to provoke people of Karachi. Another RAbita Committee member Kaiful Wara was also arrested with him. But he was later released.

On August 3, an anti-terrorism court had granted 90 days custody of Qamar Mansoor to Rangers for questioning.

The court on a plea of Qamar Mansoor had also allowed him permission for medical checkup at a private hospital of Karachi.

Qamar Mansoor relieved from party

Later on Wednesday, the party’s Rabita Committee relieved Qamar Mansoor of all organisational responsibilities citing his deteriorating health.

MQM Rabita Committee in a statement said that Qamar Mansoor has been relieved of all organisational responsibilities in view of his mental and physical condition.

“The committee has asked MQM workers not to contact him for any organisational issue,” the statement added. However, it said the party leader’s family can approach the party headquarters at any time if they come across any issues so that they may be addressed accordingly.
