“Rangers’ representatives offered the FIA officials access to three RAW agents currently held under custody,” sources said. “They told (FIA officials) that an MPA, whose name includes Mangi, of a political party sends people to get trained by the Indian covert agency.”
“Earlier, these people were given training in India, but now Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) trains such elements upon RAW’s directives,” told paramilitary representatives according to sources.
“The last training session was held in Sukkur, while Mangi also addressed the agents upon return from there.”
Rangers have also shared information with the Ministry of Interior in this regard.
The Ministry of Interior has tasked the FIA to probe RAW allegations against MQM, for which the FIA officials recently approached former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal and Sarfraz Merchant in London.
FIA issued summon to Merchant to record his testimony, at which the latter expressed some reservations. At which, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan directed officials to address those reservations.
He also directed to keep in view Merchant’s dignity being a witness in the investigations of alleged RAW funding to MQM and ties with its supremo.
After Nisar’s directions, FIA Director Inam Ghani contacted Merchant on Monday and assured him of addressing his concerns. He told that Merchant is convinced to come to Pakistan to testify in the investigations against London-based MQM leadership.
It is pertinent to note here that Sarfraz Merchant is co-accused in money laundering case against MQM leaders in UK.
