Paramilitary personnel raided the office and arrested ten activists including sector in-charge Wasim Shama, finance secretary Asghar Yaqoob, said a spokesperson for Pakistan Rangers Sindh.
The arrested people were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
Meanwhile, families of arrested workers staged a protest outside Korangi sector office and voiced slogans.
The MQM Rabita Committee (RC) has strongly condemned raid at its Korangi sector office and subsequent arrests.
In a statement issued shortly afterwards, the RC termed the raid ‘a bid to prevent the party from contesting the local body (LB) elections and conspiracy to affect its public mandate’.
15 more held in different raids
Rangers also rounded up more than 15 more suspects in raids in Hijrat Colony, Sultanabad, Pipri and Railways Colony.
The suspects were said to be affiliated with banned outfits and political parties.
