ISLAMABAD: The meteorological department has forecast rain with thunderstorm and snowfall in different parts of the country on Friday (today), ARY News reported.
As per details, rain is expected in Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Zhob, Kalat, Makran divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Heavy rain in Rajanpur and its adjoining areas has created flood like situation as rain nullah Kaha Sultan, whose capacity is 8000 cusecs, is witnessing passage of 36,000 cusecs water.
On the other hand, at least two people were reported dead in Balochistan in rain related incidents, while several roads were closed due to over topping of water.
According to PMD, a westerly wave is affecting most parts of the country and likely to effect different parts of the country.
Heavy rainfall caused flooding in rivers and nullahs in Kohlu district. The floodwater swept away 20 goats in the district.
Heavy downpour also reported in Kalat, Pishin, Zhob and adjoining areas.
The met office had reported 02mm rainfall in Lasbela district. Jaffarabad, Dera Allahyar, Osta Mohammad and Sohbatpur districts also received heavy rainfall which submerged the low-lying areas and causing power outages at several places.
