Talking to media after the 15th meeting of Railways standing committee, the minister said the process of updating railways is underway and the Pakistan Express will be the first train to be updated by June.
He said all the trains in country will be updated in a span of 3-4 years, while construction of a railway station in Bahawalpur will soon be kicked off.
Rafique said that efforts are being made for the railways deficit not to exceed last year’s tally.
Speaking about the porters at railway stations, he regretted that they are trapped in the clutches of the oppressive system introduced by the British and vowed to soon bring a change in this cruel system.
