DPO Sharik Kamal was made OSD and his services were surrendered to the federal government after he refused to visit the residence of local MNA Alam Dad Laleka.
The federal government asked the official to visit the residence of MNA Alam Dad Laleka and excuse with him for arresting his close aide who allegedly tortured police officials while being drunk himself or to pack up his luggage for Islamabad.
Earlier, DPO Sharik Kamal, after being informed by Special Branch that MNA’s close aide had tortured the Police officials and the local SHO Ihsan Ullah had released all the accused after receiving bribe from them, had not only suspended the SHO but also ordered registration of a case against the suspect.
This act of the DPO infuriated the MNA who first approached the chief minister for initiating action against the official. After receiving negative response from CM Punjab, the lawmaker approached the prime minister, seeking the replacement of DPO.
Kamal finally opted for packing up his luggage for Islamabad instead of excusing the MNA.
Punjab government on Wednesday ordered to make him OSD and issued a notification of surrendering his services to Islamabad.
