QUETTA: An appellate tribunal of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Tuesday dismissed an appeal filed by PTI provincial chief Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind challenging a returning officer’s decision to reject his nomination papers for NA-260 and PB-17 Jhal Magsi.
Justice Hashim Kakar of the high court upheld the verdict of the RO concerned, declaring the PTI Balochistan President ineligible to run in the coming general elections.
The RO had rejected his papers for NA-260 and PB-17 citing an FIR with regard to discrepancies in his education certificates and concealment of the details of assets.
Later, the PTI leader filed an appeal in the high court, challenging the appellate tribunal’s verdict.
His nomination papers for a provincial assembly seat in Sibbi have already been accepted.
The tribunal also rejected PPP Provincial President Ali Madad Jattak’s appeal against the returning officer’s verdict that rejected his nomination papers for PB-31.
He announced to approach the high court against the verdict.
