ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday directed Lahore police to immediately arrest land grabber Mansha Khokhar.

Headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, a bench of the apex court accepted an apology tendered by PTI MNA Malik Karamat Khokhar over interfering in police affairs.

It asked the PTI disciplinary committee to act against Khokhar and another party lawmaker Nadeem Abbas.

The court was hearing a case pertaining to failure of the police to arrest Mansha Khokhar and his sons who are allegedly involved in grabbing lands in Lahore’s Johar Town.

The MNA regretted that he committed a big mistake by asking the police to set free the land grabber’s son and offered an apology over his act.

He said that he had just asked the police to release the land grabber’s son if he was innocent.

Justice Nisar accepted his apology, cautioning him not to indulge in such practices in future.

The top court was informed that Mansha Khokhar had gone into hiding and six teams have been constituted to nab him.

The court directed the authorities concerned to place the names of Mansha and his sons on the Exit Control List (ECL).

A day earlier, a senior police officer told the judges that Mansha and his sons have been booked in  70 cases of encroachments.
