Gul Badshah, a local leader of provincial ruling party Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI), was arrested with 20 other accused after their pleas for bail before arrest were rejected by a local court.
The accused have been allegedly involved in providing fake national identity cards to Afghan refugees.
Gul Badshah has been a former nazim and a district level leader of ruling PTI. Police has arrested Gul Badshah and other accused and sent them to jail.
According to sources, Gul Badshah deemed a close aide of provincial Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak.
