Priyanka Chopra addresses suicide claims by ex-manager

Priyanka Chopra has made it big in Tinsel town. The Indian actress has already raked in a People’s Choice award for favourite actress. Chopra has received critical acclaim for playing  Alex Parrish from her stellar hit show Quantico. Not only that, she has managed to notch a meaty role besides former WWE superstar and Hollywood actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the upcoming Baywatch.

However, not long ago, PC was a struggling actress in Bollywood. Her ex-manager Prakash Jaju had claimed a couple of days ago that the actress had committed suicide three times while she was a struggling Bollywood actress. Priyanka finally spoke out against Jha’s statement and said:-

“This is utter… First of all, it’s so sad that Indian media has given credibility to the man, who was in jail because of harassing me, without checking the history who the person is,” she said. Chopra also said that she had nothing to say about Prakash’s accusations since he had no credibility.

She also said that it was unfair

to target the Indian film industry alone and not speak about Indian women who committed suicide from other professions.
“Why don’t we talk about those women, who commit suicide because they were harassed by the mother-in-laws or being beaten in their homes? Or they kill themselves because they are unhappy in their homes? It’s so easy to turn around and say about the showbiz world,” he said.

Indian TV actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Pratyusha Bannerjee had committed suicide a couple of days ago. Her death had shocked Bollywood while some actresses such as Hema Malini had criticised Bannerjee and stated that there was no bravery in suicide. Priyanka criticised those who were saying bad things about the actress without understanding her circumstances.

“Nobody knows the truth. Nobody ever tried to find out what the poor 24-year-old girl was going through… And as usual, people are dissecting her life. People are unnecessarily talking about her, not giving her and family the respect they deserve right now,” she stated.
