PM Sharif has taken notice of the rising polio cases in the country. It should be noted that seven polio cases were reported on Tuesday, increasing the number of total cases to 229 this year.
The prime minister has told the provincial governments to constitute a polio emergency plan in coordination with the federal government and implement it in their respective provinces.
Health Ministry, on the other hand, has decided to send a letter to Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) Chairperson Liam J. Donaldson in which the government steps alongwith the sacrifices of polio workers in eradicating the disease will be highlighted.
The health ministry will also inform the board about the threats faced in the country during the polio immunization drives.
