SSP CTD Raja Umar Khattab has said that unknown armed opened fire at CTD officials Shahab Hyder and Shahabuddin last night when they were returning from their duty to home.
Shahab Hyder sustained critical injuries in firng and succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
According to preliminary probe three gunmen were involved in the firing incident. He said the incident being investigated thoroughly, however likely cause of the firing might be the victim’s resistance against an attempt of robbery.
Deceased Shahab Hyder was a resident of Ancholi area. He was posted at CTD Civil Lines police station.
The dead body has been transferred to hospital for completion of formalities.
