“Pictures of over 100 men are sent to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for identification,” he said.
He also said PTI women leaders were showed video footages of the incident but they could not identify anyone of the ‘goons’.
Earlier, a case had been registered against about 100 unknown persons for allegedly harassing women during PTI’s anti-corruption rally on May 2.
Chairperson PTI Women Wing Munazza Hassan had submitted an application in a police station against Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and held the Punjab government responsible for mistreatment of women.
While, the PTI report yesterday laid blame on a female superintendent of police who had reportedly left before the PTI rally ended.
SP Ammara Athar was tasked with ensuring security to women enclosure of PTI public gathering, but she left the venue before culmination of the rally.
Other police officers also started leaving bit by bit once their in-charge had left, said a source.
Some dozens of men had stormed into the pavilion area reserved for women and started harassing them when the rally concluded. The men who were yet to be identified who mistreated women participants of the rally and news channels broadcast the footage of the incident.
