Police arrest ‘paid killer’ of Hindu trader in Ghotki

GHOTKI: Police claimed to have solved a murder case of a Hindu trader and said that a paid killer was behind it and acted on the orders of the deceased’s business partners, ARY NEWS reported.

SSP Ghotki while sharing details of the case said that they have arrested a suspect named Mohsin Pitafi, who is a paid-killer and has confessed to his crime.

“The suspect murdered the Hindu trader in a gathering and later went into hiding,” he said and added, “A JIT was formed after a protest from the minority community in the area.”

He further shared that the suspect killed the trader after being paid by the business partner of the Hindu trader. “The victim wanted to initiate a separate business from his partners,” the police said.

The SSP further shared that the suspect is a habitual criminal and had confessed to killing 15 people.

In a somewhat similar incident previously, two Hindu businessmen were shot and killed while resisting a robbery attempt at their shop in Mithi, Tharparkar.

According to the local police, the victims, identified as Dileep Kumar and Chandar Maheshwari, were brothers.

Robbers riding a bike struck at their shop in the grain market in Mithi early Friday morning and tried to snatch cash from them, according to a police official.

When the two brothers put up resistance, the robbers opened fire at them. As a result, they suffered fatal bullet wounds and died before they could be transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
