Mr Sharif will be in the US from Oct 20 to 23.
The invitation of this visit was given by the US President Barack Obama.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will discuss besides regional situation, matters relating to defence, counter-terrorism, economic, trade, education, health, and climatic change.
The Prime Minister will also meet Chairman of House Foreign Affairs Committee and members of Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He will have business interaction with Pakistan-US Business Council and US Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also deliver a speech at the US Institute of Peace.
In a statement before his departure, the prime minister said Pakistan wants to expand the scope of US-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue Framework in a multi-faceted manner.
Mr. Sharif said relations between the two countries are satisfactorily advancing on an upward trajectory.
“Being a sovereign country having strong democratic dispensation, Pakistan has rendered unmatched sacrifice in war on terror as a frontline state,” said the PM.
“Even now, Zarb-i-Azb’s success is a manifestation of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to root out terrorism and extremism from each and every nook and corner of our country.
