According to details, the premier presided a meeting of federal ministers Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal to ponder upon the situation after former president Asif Ali Zardari’s ‘diatribe’ against the military.
Our correspondent Azhar Farooq told that during the meeting federal ministers suggested the prime minister to not hold a meeting with the PPP co-chairman under current circumstances.
They said the meeting will lead to misunderstandings between the government and the institutions.
The federal ministers suggested as long as the former president does not issue an explanation or withdraws his statement, the meeting should not be held.
Following this the PM House conveyed a message to Zardari House Islamabad informing about PM’s excuse from holding the already scheduled meeting.
Earlier to this, PPP Senator Farhatullah Babar had said that Asif Ali Zardari will be visiting the PM House to meet PM Nawaz Sharif, however no statement was issued by the PPP after the cancellation of the meeting.
