PM not required to step down on Panama leaks, says Khuhro

Talking to media, Khuhro said Panama leaks is not a legal document, it only serves as basis to level allegations. “First investigations into the claims should be held and if something is proven against the premier then an action be taken,” he said.

The minister said that a comprehensive probe into Panama leaks should be held by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and other federal agencies.

Speaking about schools in Sindh, he said that due to positive steps taken by the provincial government, majority of 7000 schools have been reopened across the province.

“Only 1200 schools are still closed, for which teachers qualifying the NTS are being recruited,” said Khuhro. “In future, no teacher will be appointed without clearing the NTS.”

Efforts are being made to improve education in Sindh, he said, while the ghost employees in the province have been traced with the help of biometric system and they are now compelled to discharge their duties.
