ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif departed for Saudi Arabia on a personal visit on Sunday morning, ARY News reported.
As is the usual practice of the premier he will spend the last days of the holy month of Ramazan in the kingdom. He will perform Umrah and then will proceed to Madina to pay visit to Masjid-e-Nabvi.
This is his third visit to Saudi Arabia in over a month. On May 21, PM Sharif attended the US-Arab-Islamic Summit addressed by US President Donald Trump.
On June 13, PM Sharif paid a one-day visit to Saudi Arabia along with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa as the Gulf crisis widened with various Saudi allies severing diplomatic relations with Qatar.
PM Sharif will likely travel to London on June 26 for a medical check-up and will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr there along with his family members who are accompanying him on this trip. He is expected to return home on June 30.
The PM had earlier on May 30 last year undergone open-heart surgery in London after he was diagnosed with a heart complication by doctors.
