ISLAMABAD: A spokesperson of Prime Minister House has said that Rs. 2 billion will be released for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan tribal region, ARY News reports.
According to the spokesperson, the amount is being released on the orders of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Rs. 40,000 will be given to the displaced families in the first month.
Pakistan Army has launched a military offensive in North Waziristan against militants due to which hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced.
Balochistan Government has also announced Rs. 5 billion for the IDPs of the tribal areas.
Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch said that further assistance will be provided if necessary. He added that the displaced persons will be served with proper security.
