Picture of terrorist who shifted bomb to Anarkali blast site released

LAHORE: Investigators have obtained a picture of the suspected terrorist who transported an explosive device to Lahore’s New Anarkali Bazaar where a blast last week killed at least three people and injured 20 others.

Sources today told ARY News that the terrorist was alone when he came to Anarkali Bazaar to place the explosive device. He left the bomb in front of Tariq Enterprises and then traveled to Lorri Adda in a rickshaw, they added.

Investigators said efforts are underway to identify and trace the man. They said labourers taken into custody from the blast site have been set free.

Earlier, the police took into custody a rickshaw driver who reportedly transported the terrorist to the blast site but found no evidence showing his involvement in the terrorist act.

At least three persons including a child were killed and over 20 others were injured in a bomb blast that took place on Thursday evening at 1:40 pm in the busy Anarkali area of Lahore.

The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) officials said that 10-kilogram explosive material was used in the explosion. A thorough investigation has been launched to ascertain the genre of the explosion.
