ATC extends physical remand of 'Nine Zero' arrestees

According to details, seven party workers arrested from MQM headquarters Nine Zero namely Faizan, Wajih-ur-Rehman, Rizwan, Khursheed, Zubair , Mumtaz and Naeem were presented in an Anti-Terrorism Court amid heightened security arrangements.

Police officials told the court that the suspects are accused of keeping illegal weapons and explosives in their possession.

Police asked the ATC to extend their remand as more of their accomplices in crime can be arrested from the information obtained from them upon which the court extended the physical remand.

The ATC also extended the remand of five more people arrested from Nine Zero for 14 days on Thursday.

Rangers on March 11 raided the offices of MQM in Karachi, seizing a “huge quantity” of weapons and arresting activists, including one accused of murdering a journalist.
