Ait’kaf is an Islamic practice consisting of a period of staying in a mosque for a certain number of days, devoting oneself to prayer during these days and staying away from worldly affairs.
The Sunnah Ait’kaf for men, is to retreat and seclude oneself within the Masjid while women at home during the last ten days of Ramazan.
Motakifs have started their Ait’kaf in Mosques and at homes to follow the Sunnah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
People offer prayers, nawafils, recite Quran and read tasbih during Ait’kaf.
