LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan on Thursday said PCB would move court against Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for failing to hold due cricket matches with Pakistan, ARY News reported.

“We will first raise this matter with International Cricket Council (ICC). If our matter could not be resolved by the ICC committee, then we will approach court and send legal notice to the Indian board,” he said while apprising the media that currently there was no possibility of Pak-India cricket series after a statement from Indian Home Ministry disallowed permission in this regard.

PCB took this decision after 44th Board of Governors meeting at National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

The Indian Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Ahir, today responded to the BCCI letter seeking permission for cricket series with Pakistan at a neutral venue, saying that cricket ties with the neighbouring country are not likely to resume any time soon.

“In the current circumstances cricket between India and Pakistan is not possible,” he said.

The behavior of (Indian prime minister Narendra) Modi shows that India is not ready at all to play with Pakistan. We are left with no option but to approach court, said Shahryar Khan. He said lack of cricket with India was giving Pakistan loss.

The chairman PCB implied that more international cricket was ready to arrive in Pakistan following successful staging of Pakistan Super League 2017 final.

“Security advisors from different regions of the world personally saw the spectacular show of PSL 2017 final. They must be impressed,” he said adding that ICC XI will play a series in September this year in the homeland and two of its matches could be played in Karachi.

He said PSL 3rd edition will be played in different cities. He also said Pakistan Cup is going to start this month in Rawalpindi and next year this cup would be held in Karachi.

The PCB chief said gone are the days when BCCI was among the biggest financers of ICC. The issue of Big Three, he said, was also under discussion in ICC.
