LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to honour the retired trio of Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan and Misbah Ul Haq in an award ceremony in September.
“We plan to arrange a special award ceremony for former captains Misbah ul Haq, Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi,” said Chairman PCB Najam Sethi while talking to a private news channel.
“They served Pakistan for a long period and deserve appreciation,” he added.
He also revealed that other top performers of the team will also be honoured by the cricket board in that event.
“We will honour and appreciate our top players and umpires in the same award ceremony to encourage them,” he told.
Shahid Afirdi remained a prolific allrounder for Pakistan in his two-decade long career. He played an integral role in making Pakistan World T20 Champions in 2009, where he got Man of the Match in semi-final and final.
Younis Khan is the first Pakistani to score 10,000 Test runs. He is unarguably one of the best Test batsmen Pakistan has ever produced.
Misbah Ul Haq, who retired from international cricket at 42-years of age, emerged as the most successful Test skipper in the history of Pakistan.
