PARACHINAR: Six more injured of the twin blasts in Parachinar succumbed to their injuries on Saturday morning, increasing the death toll to 45, ARY News reported on Saturday.
Twin blasts hit bustling Turi market of Parachinar Friday evening leaving over 35 people dead and around 100 injured. First blast targeted people busy shopping ahead of Eid and subsequent blast hit the rescue workers and bystanders who had rushed to the site of the first blast to help rescue injured.
No terrorist group had yet claimed the responsibility for the two subsequent blasts.
Sources at Parachinar agency headquarters hospital said six more injured have succumbed to their injuries, increasing the number of the fatalities to 45.
The superintendent of the health facility had earlier on Friday evening confirmed 31 bodies and some 85 injured brought to the hospital.
The Pakistan army’s helicopter had airlifted some injured to Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital owing to their precarious condition and the hospital in Perachinar not equipped to handle such a large number of the victims of the terrorist attack.
