SEOUL: Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem successfully defended his World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Flyweight Championship by beating Giemel Magramo of Philippines in Seoul, ARY News reported.
According to details, Waseem beat the Philippine boxer 3-0 in the highly anticipated 12-round fight.
It should be noted that Waseem had earlier said that Magramo was a tough opponent to beat and was expected a good fight from him.
Waseem said that he became physically and mentally fit after acquiring special training for the fight.
The boxer described boxing as a sport which is impossible to play without spending money on coaches and physical fitness.
Waseem is living in Las Vegas since turning into a professional where he has been training in the training centre of renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather.
He is being trained by Jeff Mayweather, uncle of Floyd Mayweather.
The Pakistani boxer had won the WBC Silver Flyweight Championshipby defeating Jether Oliva in July 2014. He is the first South Asian boxer to win the boxing title.
