ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday said Pakistan would unequivocally support the cause of Kashmir in the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session.
He gave this assurance to President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary during a telephonic call to him.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan has a clear and strong stance on the Kashmir issue.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary thanked the support of Pakistan in highlighting the plight of Kashmiris at international forums.

The foreign ministers of India and Pakistan will meet on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly this month.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had written to his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, suggesting their foreign ministers meet in New York to try to break an impasse in ties.
Indian foreign ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar said New Delhi had agreed to a meeting between Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Earlier this month, Indian PM Narendra Modi, in his a communique to Prime Minister Imran Khan, had stated that he seeks “meaningful and constructive” engagement between the two neighbours.
In reciprocation, PM Khan wrote to the Indian premier, officially extending the offer to resume peace talks.
Prime Minister Imran Khan in a meeting with Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan assured that Pakistan would continue to extend its moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir in their struggle for right to self-determination.
The PM called upon international community to take immediate notice of the human rights violations in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play its effective role in resolving the Kashmir issue in line with aspirations of Kashmiri people and the United Nations resolutions.
