“It is indeed disappointing but not having any alternative of Ajmal is an alarming situation for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)” said Tauseef Ahmed on Tuesday.
He said bowlers usually face such kind of problems due to extensive playing of Twenty20 cricket. He said taking Ajmal’s services in all format of cricket wasn’t right.
The former cricketer advised national cricket team to believe on team work instead of depending on a single person.
Tauseef Ahmed said he hopes that Saeed Ajmal will work hard to bring the desired change in his bowling action to make a comeback in the team.
Ajmal bowling action was reported during the first test match against Sri Lanka in Galle. This was the second instance of Ajmal being reported for a suspect action. In April 2009, he had been reported while bowling the doosra, and was cleared the following month.
Ajmal underwent a biometric laboratory test at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane on August 25. And today ICC decided to ban Ajmal after the team of biomechanics experts declared his action illegal.
The appeal against the decision can be filed within 14 days of the announcement of the ban. But an unsuccessful appeal could lead to Ajmal being banned from bowling in international cricket for a period of time.
Ajmal can also apply to the ICC for a re-assessment at any time after modifying his action.
