ISLAMABAD: Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad, ARY News reported on Thursday.
The outgoing ISI chief discussed issues of national security with the prime minister in the meeting.
The prime minister lauded the services of Lt. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar as DG ISI.
It should be noted that Lt. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar has now been posted as President of the National Defence University (NDU) after recent reshuffle of the Pakistan Army top brass in which 11 top officials have been transferred at new posts.
Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, the outgoing corps commander of Karachi, has been named as the new chief of the ISI.
Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar, incumbent Director General Sindh Rangers, has been appointed the Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army.
