ISLAMABAD: Affirming solidarity with the judiciary, Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed said that new documents are emerging with each passing day as the case is getting tougher while talking to media persons on Thursday before the beginning of Panamagate case hearing at the Supreme Court.
Appearing optimistic, Rasheed said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would leave his office before the general elections next year. “The elections are far now [to be held in 2018], this year [2017] is to decide the fate of all politicians,” he opined while stating that the premier could have saved his children and others if he had tendered resignation a year ago.
“All those saying there are no cases against them will no more be holding their offices before AML rally in Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi on August 13,” he further said.
Addressing the media outside the Supreme Court, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq wished for a decision upholding justice and favouring the masses.
Anticipating the corruption will be eliminated from the country in the wake of Supreme Court’s judgment in the case, the JI chief stated that the court is unsatisfied with the arguments being presented by the government.
Speaking to journalists, senior Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman alleged that these are old documents and a part of delaying tactics being employed by the government.
Taking a swipe at the premier, she said that he did not even mention anything about the ongoing Indian aggression across the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary while visiting Sialkot.
“Amid echoes of unprovoked Indian firing, the premier played politics,” she said.
Joining in conversation, another PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the ruling party trying to twist the facts since the beginning of the case as now they have brought another letter to the fore.
However, he opined: “It seems the court will dismiss it as it did the previous letters.”
