Opposition asks govt to call an APC on Yemen crisis

According to details, former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari presided over a meeting of opposition parties here on Wednesday to discuss the tensed situation of Yemen and Pakistan’s possible role in that.

He said that the situation of Middle East is alarming, but the prime minister did not care to call him for consultation on the issue.

Chief of Awami National Party (ANP), Asfandyar Wali Khan warned that if the government did not take the political leadership into confidence, then they will also ‘announce their decision’ when the time came.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader, Farooq Sattar demanded the premier to formulate a national policy on the issue.

Opposition leaders stressed the government to immediately call an all parties conference (APC) to discuss the Yemen turmoil.

None of the representatives from Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Tehreek-i-Insaf and Jamaat e Islami participated in the meeting to discuss Yemen situation.
