One Pakistani cricketer makes it to Jonathan Trott’s All Time XI

Former England cricketer Jonathan Trott, like his other compatriots, has picked his all-time XI and has named his favourite cricketers from around the world.

As Trott starts naming his top team, he chose Alastair Cook and former Australian test cricketer Michael Slater as his openers.

Slater was one of the top Australian test batsmen and played a number of memorable innings for his team.

Two time world cup winner Ricky Ponting, India’s Sachin Tendulkar and legendary South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis make Trott’s middle order.

Like many others, Trott chose Adam Gilchrist as his wicket keeper.

Unlike other players, Trott has two spinners in his team and both were very best at their business, Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan and Australia’s Shane Warne.

As he picks two fast bowlers for his best eleven, his first choice is Pakistan’s legendary pacer Waqar Younis because of “the way that he was able to control the ball through the air, whether it was swinging or not swinging”.

Trott’s 11th player is the South African great Allan Donald.  The legendary pacer  who many think holds the credit for South Africa’s success in the modern era cricket.
