ISLAMABAD: Newly-wed India woman to Pakistani man, Dr. Uzma on Friday filed a petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC), seeking repatriation to India on security issues, ARY News reported.
The filed petition states that Dr. Uzma was deceived and misinformed as Tahir Ali – her Pakistani husband – was already married and father of four, adding, the Indian woman’s life was in danger in Pakistan, hence the government should ensure her safe return to her country.
The petition was filed through barrister Malik Shahnawaz in which Tahir Ali, her husband, and foreign ministry of Pakistan were made the parties.
The petition has also sought exemption from police reporting with an inscription that Dr. Uzam’s daughter, Falak, is also not feeling well in India and her return has become mandatory. However, her husband has confiscated all necessary travel documents in this regards and foreign ministry should be directed to issue her a duplicate copy of immigration form, petition added.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr. Uzma earlier this week alleged harassment and forced marriage against her Pakistani spouse.
Responding to claims of a Pakistani man – who had accused the Indian High Commission (IHC) in Islamabad of detaining his newly-wed Indian wife – Uzma had then said that she was forced to sign on ‘Nikahnama’ (marriage certificate) on gun point.
Uzma, from Delhi, met Tahir in Malaysia. She travelled to Pakistan on May 1st via the Wagah-Attari border and the two reportedly contracted Nikah on May 3 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
