ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday lamented that no Prime Minister in the country has ever completed his tenure while stating that a conspiracy has been cooking up ahead of next General Elections 2018.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the ousted premier threatened to expose the elements against the government if they did not stop cooking up their conspiracies.
“The sanctity of vote should be respected by terminating all illegal and covert practices to erect hurdles for political parties,” Sharif underlined.
He claimed the ruling party has gained popularity in the wake of Panama Papers saga. “This is an election year and the connivance of some elements against one party has been stepped up,” he added without citing the party’s name.
Calling for free and fair General Elections, Nawaz Sharif said the elements behind the scene have been indulged in changing the current political scenario while claiming his party’s vote bank has become more ‘stronger’.
“The equal opportunities should be given to every electoral contender,” he emphasised.
Calling upon the elements behind the scene to refrain from initiating their malicious plots, Sharif said the masses have rejected the politics of lies and sit-ins.
“The conspirators must avoid making deals to keep favourite parties in and others out,” he said.
He said he will inform the people of the political games being played behind the curtains for last four years.
Trump’s tweet
Expressing displeasure on Trump’s tweet, Sharif said Pakistan suffered losses in the war against terrorism more than any other country.
He said the country had offered supreme sacrifices in the war on terrorism.
He further said that if there would have been a democratic government in 2001, it had never render services to any foreign country for money.
