A meeting of the NAB Executive Board was held in Islamabad and was presided by chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry. During the meeting, permission was granted to conduct inquiry against three cases.
NAB gave permission to conduct investigations against former Petroleum Minister Dr. Asim, Director Land KDA Syed Athar Hussain and against Administrator of Ziauddin Hospital Dubai, Abdul Hameed.
It is alleged that these individuals allotted government lands to several people illegally and used the proceeds to launder money. Due to these activities, they caused loss in the billions to the national treasury.
Permission has been granted to probe Provincial Minister of Industries Syed Ahsan Shah, Member of National Assembly Mir Munawar Ali Talpur and senior officials of Peshawar University.
Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman expressed the will to root out corruption from the country and said that with regard to this matter, a zero tolerance policy will be applied.
