KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Kamran Tessori on Friday clarified that the party’s alliance with the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) remains intact, and there was only a difference on the terms and conditions of the agreement.
Appearing on ARY News program, Tessori said that the MQM stands on the alliance and its clauses which Farooq Sattar had said during the press conference with Mustafa Kamal. He admitted that there were animosity and a difference of opinion between the two parties during the presser which was clearly visible.
He further said that MQM-Pakistan also wants to include other local parties in the alliance such as the Muhajir Quami Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) led by Afaq Ahmed and Saleem Haider’s MuhajirIttihadd Tehreek.
He maintained that the MQM wants a conducive and peaceful environment in Karachi and not create any political disruption in a city which contributes significantly to the economy of the nation.
When asked if the Farooq Sattar’s was pressurised to make the alliance with PSP, Tessori said that there was lack of clarity in the press conference and that Sattar was displeased after Mustafa Kamal exceeded the mandate which was discussed with him.
Furthermore, he said that Farrooq Sattar was displeased over the reaction within the party particularly on social media which prompted him to rethink his decision on the alliance with PSP. However, he maintained that the alliance remains intact and only the clauses needs to be finalised.
Sattar on Thursday shocked when he suddenly announced to quit politics and from leadership of the MQM creating strong reaction from party workers, but the decision was taken back after a few hours.
