KARACHI: MQM leader Farooq Sattar said it was hoped that the current situation – developed in the wake of Altaf Hussain’s arrest – would get better, ARY News reported Thursday.
Talking to media at Numaish intersection where party supporters and workers have been staging sit-in for three days, Sattar said if Altaf’s condition deteriorates it is a concern for us.
Peaceful demonstrations are meant to tell world of our concern. “The MQM chief is under treatment at a hospital in London. We are praying for his early recovery,” he told.
He said transporters and traders must continue their routine operations. “Sit-in are continued to express solidarity with Altaf.”
The MQM leader informed that doctors had prescribed more medical tests to Altaf, which will be conducted soon.
“The peaceful protest has rejected the impression that Karachi is a violent city. It’s now established that Karachi is a peace-loving city,” said Sattar.
He said, “We have some reservations over health issues of Mr. Altaf Hussain.”
“We are happy that Altaf Hussain talked to his daughter Afza from the hospital,” added Sattar.
