After a prolonged meeting of the MQM Rabita Committees – Karachi and London – it was decided that the party will announce its future strategy regarding Rangers’ raid at its headquarters and subsequent arrests, after the funeral of Waqas Shah – an activist who succumbed to bullet wound today, our correspondent, Rafay Hussain quoted sources within the party as saying.
Funeral prayers of the slain activist will be held at the Laal Qila ground after Zuhr prayers on Thursday.
The party decided to mark Thursday as a peaceful day of mourning, during which the party members and sympathizers will tie black bands on the arms and wave black flags at their houses.
The MQM did not appeal the masses to keep their shops and businesses closed, nor for keeping the public transport off the roads.
On the other hand, a delegation of MQM leaders has reached the Chief Minister House, Karachi, for talks regarding the matter.
MQM delegation included, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, Faisal Sabzwari, Wasay Jalil and others.
The meeting is still underway and the readers will be provided with the details as received.
