Modi regrets missing ghazal singer Ghulam Ali’s performance!

He might be perceived as an anti-Muslim personality and an anti-Pakistan politician, but Narendra Modi certainly did not shy away from professing his love for Ustad Ghulam Ali’s music.

Ghulam Ali is all set to perform at the sacred temple where previously Muslims and women were restricted from performing. He will be making history as the first Pakistani artist to show off his vocal talents at the historic venue. An invite was sent to Modi, who politely declined and cited his busy schedule as the reason for missing the

musical performance. The organized performances will feature a host of artists demonstrate their musical talents such as sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, his sons Amaan and Ayaan, Kathak exponent Pandit Birju Maharaj, flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia, Odissi dancer Sonal Mansingh and tabla player Hasmat Ali Khan.
In a series of tweets, the Indian Prime Minister revealed how much he regretted missing the event and Ghulam Ali’s performance.

The ongoing ‘Sangeet Samaroh’ event will be held till the 12th of April. Narendra Modi himself is an MP from Varnasi.
