Test team skipper Misbah-ul-Haq on Friday disclosed the most important lessons his life had taught him throughout his international cricket career.
He said the most important things he had learnt were having a never-say-die approach, be disciplined, do hard work, believe in yourself and always seek help from Allah (SWT).
“The things I have learnt from failures include having an approach of never give up, be disciplined, do hard work, believe in yourself and always seek help from Allah (SWT),” he said in an interview with Pakistan Cricket Team Facebook page.
Giving account of his achievements, he said making hundred at Lord’s, winning at Oval, tying match with West Indies on August 14 (Independence Day), winning Twenty20 World Cup in 2009 were big feats.
It is pertinent here to mention that Misbah has been one of the most successful captains of Pakistan.
He has numerous records under his belt. In December 2016, Misbah became the first Pakistani cricketer to have won the ICC Spirit of the Year award.
The ICC statement said the 42-year-old was adjudged the winner for inspiring Pakistani players to play the game in its true spirit, at the same time lifting the Pakistan cricket team from number-four to number-one on the ICC Test Team Rankings.

Remarkably, this was achieved without playing any Test matches in his home country, it added.
Misbah is the first Pakistani player to win the award with the previous winners being MS Dhoni (2011), Daniel Vettori (2012), Mahela Jayawardena (2013), Katherine Brunt (2014) and Brendon McCullum (2015), said ICC.
