Airport sources informed that Ms Lodhi had reserved a Dubai-bound flight EK-603 at 10.30 pm on Friday. They told that the seat number of Ms Lodhi was J-1. However, she was offloaded soon after boarding the plane.
The convicted TV host had to proceed to South Africa after landing in Dubai.
The Anti-Terrorism Court in Gilgit had sentenced Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman 26 years in prison with Rs 1.3 million fine along with Shaista Lodhi on Tuesday over a broadcast showing people dancing to a song about the wedding of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad’s daughter, thus hurting religious sentiments of people.
The ATC had ordered arrest of Ms Lodhi and her production in the court over blasphemy charges she is facing.
