Met Office forecast rainfall for next two days in country

ISLAMABAD: The Met Office has predicted a spate of rainfall from this evening in upper and central parts for next 02 days.

A westerly wave is likely to enter in upper parts of the country on 16th May (evening/night) and likely to persist in upper and central parts till 18th May.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast wind-dust or thunderstorm rain with isolated hailstorm expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbotabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Bannu, Tank, Karak, Dera Ismail Khan, Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura, Nankana, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Kasur, Okara and Lahore on 17th and 18th May under the influence of this weather system.

While wind-dust or thunderstorm rain is expected in Balochistan, south Punjab’s Layyah, Kot Addu, Multan, D.G. Khan, Rajanpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanewal, Pakpattan, Sahiwal and Sukkur, Jacobabad and Larkana upper Sindh on 16th and 17th May.

The Met Office has cautioned that dust or wind storm may cause damage to lose structure and standing crops in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has cautioned district administrations and concerned departments to take precautionary measures to tackle any challenging situation.
