LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Saturday said that she and her father, former premier Nawaz Sharif, will return to Pakistan on Friday, ARY News reported.
Speaking to media in the British capital, Maryam Nawaz announced that she and her father Mian Nawaz Sharif don’t fear arrest and will return to Pakistan on Friday.
“We aren’t those who run away, Mian Nawaz Sharif is a commando without training though he has never said “Mein Darta Wrta Nahin Hoon” (like former military dictator Pervez Musharraf),” said Maryam Nawaz.
About the Avenfield verdict, she said that a “fair trial” would have Sharif family vindicated.
It is pertinent to note here that, on Friday, an accountability court handed former PM and PML-N’s supreme leader Mian Nawaz Sharif 10 years as jail time for owning assets beyond income and 1 year for not cooperating with NAB in the Avenfield properties corruption reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Maryam Nawaz was given 7 years for abetment, and 1 year for non-cooperation with the anti-graft authority.
Earlier today, NAB also obtained their arrest warrants.
