KHANPUR: An influential person on Sunday allegedly subjected a widow to torture and set her house ablaze over property dispure in Khanpur, ARY News reported.
The victim, Nasreen Bibi’s arm has been broken because of torture. She said she had called on police helpline 15, but they did not turn up.
She said when her brother reached the police station for registering complaint, he was arrested. The incident took place in jurisdiction of Saddar police station, Moza Peer Bakhsh Korai Basti.
ARY News correspondent said the woman was beaten after removing her clothes.

On February 22, police had claimed to have arrested two suspected swindlers who allegedly left a minor boy at a mobile phone shop in a Lahore neighbourhood after cheating its owner.
According to the police, suspects Zain and Mahmoob had a history of involvement in acts of robberies.
A team of the Raiwind police had earlier on Feb 18 arrested Ahmed, a resident of Green Town, on Feb 18 on suspicion of being swindlers’ accomplice and brutally tortured him in the custody.
The victim boy had said a boy took him along to a mobile phone shop and asked the shopkeeper to let him take a phone set his home to show it to his family members as he (Ahmed) will stay at the shop until his return.
