LAHORE: Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Mansoor Ali Shah on Thursday took notice of the incidents of torture on special children while riding to or from school in buses in Punjab.
He directed the inspector general Punjab police to post two unarmed policemen on each bus of special schoolkids to curb the violence against them.
The CJ LHC held hearing for the case late evening on call of petitioner Midad Ali Advocate at GOR camp office.
The court has summoned the DPO Sialkot, deputy commissioner and secretary special education department on December 4, while it has also sought a report from the chief secretary, IG police and secretary special education on the incidents.

The petitioner apprised the LHC that special male and female children of Government Special Education Center Duska were tortured in public buses by bus conductors Mazhar and Muzammil.
“The bus conductors hurled abuses at the children and pulled hairs of girls which has triggered fear among the physically challenged children,” he said.
He said incidents of violence against deaf and mute children had been reported in Lahore also, but the city administration took no action against them.
He appealed to the court to order action against those involved in the cold-blooded treatment of special children and ensure their protection in the future as well.
