Justice Izhar-ul-Hasan heard a petition filed by Minhaj-ul-Quran challenging a notice by the Registrar Joint Stock Companies (JSC) for cancellation of its registration.
The MQI lawyer maintained that the Registrar JSC issued the show cause notice despite the written explanation submitted by the organization regarding the purchase of bullet proof vehicles and containers.
The petitioner’s counsel accused the Punjab government of politically victimizing the MQI officials and workers.
The LHC not only barred the JSC from cancelling the registration of Minhaj-ul-Quran but also sought report from Registrar JSC and Punjab government by February 20.
It must be noted that the Registrar JSC had issued a show cause notice regarding the cancellation of registration on December 20, 2014 accusing the organization of illegally buying bullet proof vehicles and containers and deliberately hiding the transaction in its audit report.
