The South Korean electronics company claims to offer “a back-to-basics approach to premium smartphones.”

The main selling point of the new headset is the display which offers an ultra wide-screen aspect ratio and cinematic viewing experience.

The LG G6 packs a 5.7-inch display with an eighty percent body to screen ratio, taking up almost the entire front of the phone with narrow bezels so it is comfortable to hold in one hand.

The metal frame that wraps around the perimeter has a soft matte finish and rounded corners, and the back is perfectly flat with no camera bump.  The LG G6 comes in black, platinum and white colour.

LG said that the upper bezel was minimised by rearranging the camera, sensor and speaker in a row on the front upper side. The fingerprint sensor is located on the back of the phone.

The LG G6’s Full Vision display puts more screen in your phone. The 18:9 aspect ratio, QHD+ resolution, and Dolby Vision allow superior picture quality for a more authentic cinematic viewing experience.

This is for the first time ever in a smartphone, it has an 18:9 screen aspect ratio, rather than the conventional 16:9, which LG claims offers more viewing space and a more immersive experience when streaming videos and playing games.

The display also supports Dolby Vision and HDR 10 – both of which are standards for High Dynamic Range (HDR) meaning both the darkest and the brightest areas of the picture are more vivid, revealing greater detail.

The dual 13 megapixels rear camera and 125-degree wide angle lens allows you to capture photos and videos with a wider perspective for more friends or more inclusive scenic shots.

The enhancements in image quality and performance make taking expansive panoramas, group shots and selfies easier than ever.

The LG G6 makes taking great selfies effortless with an enhanced front camera that automatically snaps a picture when a face is in frame – no buttons required.

It comes with the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat and the built-in with the intelligent virtual helper, Google Assistant, helping users to make plans to finding products.

Pricing and release dates have not been officially announced yet, but  is expected go on sale in South Korea in about a week and hit Hong Kong by mid to late March.
